Tampereen Aluetaksi Oy has dispatched Kela taxi trips in Pirkanmaa since 2011. We are now expanding to Central and Northern Ostrobothnia.
We will start providing the service on 1 January 2022. The integrated service covers the booking, consolidation, dispatching, payment transactions and reporting of taxi travels as well as the organisation and supervision of transport services. Kela has selected two service providers for each region through a competitive tender process. Customers can choose which regional service provider they want to use for a Kela taxi.
Tampereen Aluetaksi Oy has provided safe and high-quality taxi services since 1990. We are an entirely Finnish company mainly owned by our shareholder cabbies. We have over 800 contract drivers. We provide more than two million taxi orders to Tampere and its surrounding municipalities every year.
